Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasure (SPCC) is the EPA’s oil spill prevention program. The SPCC rule helps facilities prevent a discharge of oil into navig waters or adjoining shorelines. This lesson examines the purpose of an SPCC Plan, and when it applies. Lesson topics include capacity thresholds, secondary containment requirements, spill prevention strategies, responding and reporting spills, and routine inspection and recordkeeing requirements.
