In Pursuit of Control – Autonomy, Self-Determination and the Empowered Resident Training

As humans, we are control seeking – some more than others, but it’s in our very nature. Throughout our daily lives we make decisions. When to wake up, when to go to bed. When to eat and what to eat. When to bathe and whether to have a bath or a shower… or neither! Simple decisions we take for granted. But what of our residents,
for whom each of these decisions are made for them? How do our residents satisfy their need to exert control over their environment when they live within an environment which often limits the opportunity for choice, decision making and control? Length: 60 minutes 1 CEU. Approval codes will be avail on the course certificate upon completion of the course.
